BATH TRIUMPH

Football’s not coming home after all but as the winner of the office World Cup sweepstake I’m not complaining (£38 of lovely cash in my pocket so it’s Vive La France!).

Britain basks in the almost glory of footie fever and melts like a polar ice cap in temperatures not seen since 1976.  The Tories are revolting (agreed) over Brexit, Boris Johnson’s filling out his UB40 form and Trump’s had tea with the Queen.  Interest rates may go up (or not) and the office air conditioning has miraculously started working again. These are just some of the highlights of 2018’s summer.  It’s barmy!

One thing’s for certain though, the march of progress never stops especially in our house as having finished sorting out the bathroom, cunning plans are being drawn up to blitz daughter’s bedroom whilst she’s hiking in Canada.  More about that later ….

Meanwhile, it’s back to the bathroom.  In my view, it’s always those small finishing touches that can be the make or break of any DIY project.  Leave them unfinished and they’ll bug you forever.  Snagging lists definitely rule the world!

Add a bit of retro glamour with a few accessories

The clean, stylish look of Art Deco

Functional but beautiful at the same time

Finishing touches are important

Contemporary meets Retro

To get the best bang for your buck when decorating my advice is this - always shop around, buy your stuff via TopCashBack where possible and do as much of the labouring yourself to save on tradespeople.

Keep calm and decorate!
