I have gladiator feet!
This condition is quite common in sunny countries. Those wearing strappy sandals are most at
risk. San Diego hospitals are on high
alert in case the situation worsens and I have to be kept overnight in
quarantine next to those Ebola folks.

We have traipsed high and low today so I feel a bit
gladiatorish, battered and bruised. The
streets of San Diego were fairly quiet this morning as we set off towards the
sea-front to catch a glimpse of the USS Midway, the aircraft carrier and now
museum anchored up in the bay.

To the other half’s surprise, we’re spending the
afternoon in the garden. Well it’s not exactly a garden but Balboa
Park does have some beautiful flowers.

The botanical building contained a wonderful collection of orchids of
all sizes and colours.

As well as being home to the famous San Diego zoo, Balboa
Park is filled with a multitude of museums, a theatre and lots of ornate
buildings many fashioned in a Spanish style.
It’s the perfect place to spend a sunny day.
